How long have you been CrossFitting? 4 months!!! (Really??? Seems like I’ve known you forever)IMG_1578 (1)

What keeps you coming back? I love the people that I work out with!! You all make the killer workouts bearable and fun!!

How did you find CrossFit?  I have always been familiar with CrossFit, it seems as if everyone around me was doing it.  When CrossFit Algiers opened, I started stalking it – doing parking lot drive-bys, following it on Facebook, etc. I won 6 weeks of WBBC-NOLA!!! I won it and it became my New Years’ Resolution. I promised myself that I would not squander this opportunity.  It has been the only resolution that I have made AND KEPT!!

What is your athletic background?  In my head – I’m an Olympic gymnast-track star-weight lifting gold medalist!!!!!

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness? I simply feel better.

Is there something you have done here that you never thought you could do?  It has been a mental shift…I look forward to walking through the doors at CFA.  I never thought that I would look forward to going to work out.

What motivates/inspires you?  I have a teenage daughter. I am also the primary caregiver for my mother who has Parkinson’s disease. I need to be physically able to help my motherIMG_1581 (1) and I want my daughter to be as proud of her mom as I am of her.

What goals have you achieved so far, and what else do you want to accomplish? My waistline has made an appearance and we are now friends again!! #TeamCurvyGirl.  I want to be stronger…better…faster.

Hobbies/interests outside of CrossFit? I have a teenage daughter who has a busy schedule… audiobooks, music, movies, friends, food, binge-watching my favorite programs.

Any advice for new members?  The first step is always the hardest. Don’t let your preconceptions or what you’ve heard about CrossFit stop you.  I promise if you make that most important first step, the awesome folks at CFA will make the remaining steps easier. Just put one foot in front of the other and walk through the door and prepare to be amazed – amazed at how welcoming, friendly, non-judgmental the CFA family is and how fast you begin to see results…after your first step!!!
