How long have you been CrossFitting?

I have been cross fitting for 1 year and 2 months.

What keeps you coming back?

The variety in workouts which never gets boring and the fact that I can see my results.


How did you find CrossFit?.  

I was introduced to it by attending bring a friend day. My wife works with Coach Monique so she invited us to come out and try.


What is your athletic background?

I have always been involved in sports from elementary up to high school in which I participated in football and track and field.


How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness?

CrossFit has been the most positive impact in my life by allowing me to remain active and gain strength. I also pay more attention to my diet and how this affects my workout.  Since I can see my results weekly I am motivated to keep going to see what levels I can achieve.

Is there something you have done here that you never thought you could do?

Yes. Running a mile without feeling like I am about to die. When I first started I couldn’t do this very well. Now is not a big thing at all.


What motivates/inspires you?

I want to stay healthy as I can until I leave this earth. I also want be around for my family and not die for preventative diseases.


Name one goal/personal achievement that you would like to achieve through CrossFit.

I want to be able to do as many handstand pushups as I can. I also would like to be able to treat my hands like my legs where I can walk for long periods of time and conquer obstacles as well.


What goals have you achieved in CrossFit?

I have increased my Squat Max as well as increase my handstand ability.


Hobbies/interests outside of CrossFit?

  • Herbal medicine
  • Computers
  • World Religions


Tell me about your diet:  

No red meat or pork. I get most of my protein for plants like Pine Pollen, Alfalfa and Spirulina. I eat seafood, chicken and fish. I also juice at least 4 times a week.

Any advice for new members?

My advice for new members is to never give up and come to class even when you don’t feel like it. Eventually you will love it and it will become a good habit for you.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Edwardo Loredo, 34, of Houston, TX, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, NC, was killed on June 24, 2010 in Jelewar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He is survived by his wife, First Sergeant Jennifer Loredo; his daughter, Laura Isabelle; his stepdaughter, Alexis; and his son, Eduardo Enrique.
