Age: Really?!? 38

Occupation: Online Communications Manager at Capital One

Which class do you usually attend? 5:15 AM so I can get my workout in before my daughter wakes up.

Favorite WOD: I like the strength training WODs best.

Favorite Lift: Shoulder press

How long have you been CrossFitting? Started foundations in February.

What keeps you coming back? Every day is different, I haven’t done the same workout twice yet.

How did you find CrossFit? My friend took me a CrossFit session last year on our girls’ trip and I’ve wanted to try it since then.

How did you end up at CrossFit Algiers? It’s about 60 seconds from my house and I wanted to support a local small business.

What is your athletic background? I’ve played soccer since I was 5, and I still play in two leagues today.

How has CrossFit changed your life, lifestyle and level of fitness? It really has changed my muscle definition and I crave the workouts now. I have a lot more stamina than when I started so I can power through my workouts now.

Is there something you have done here that you never thought you could do? My first goal was pull-ups, next on the list is the rope climb. I like the moves that strengthen my body but also require focus and coordination.

What motivates/inspires you? When I see how my clothes fit, it makes all the difference in my self-esteem.

Name one goal/personal achievement that you would like to achieve through CrossFit. Stay fit and healthy, with toned muscles.

What goals have you achieved in CrossFit? I can do pull-ups now.

Hobbies/interests outside of CrossFit? I spend a lot of time with my family and friends, cooking, eating and drinking wine.

Tell me about your diet: I try to stay clear of carbs during the week and then on the weekends let myself cheat.

Any advice for new members? It’s not just for athletes. There is a spot for each person’s fitness level at Cross Fit Algiers. Tracking each of your workouts allows you to see your progress over time, and you will love the comraderies of the box. Jodi and Andy are great coaches who encourage you to do your best within safe limits.
